Incorporated in 2014, Bandhan Bank is a commercial bank focused on serving underbanked and underpenetrated markets in India. Let me summarize the key components:

Bandhan Bank Ltd.:

    • Incorporated in 2014 and operational since 2015, Bandhan Bank is a commercial bank in India, serving underbanked and underpenetrated markets.
    • It emerged from Bandhan Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. (BFSL), which was the largest NBFC-MFI (Non-Banking Financial Company – Micro Finance Institution) in India before transitioning to a bank.

    Bandhan Mutual Fund:

      • This is Bandhan Bank’s foray into asset management and mutual fund services, providing a range of investment products for customers.

      Bandhan Financial Services Ltd. (BFSL):

        • Initially set up in 2006 as a microfinance institution, BFSL was restructured after Bandhan Bank was formed.
        • In September 2017, BFSL became a registered NBFC-CIC-ND-SI (Non-Deposit Accepting Systematically Important Core Investment Company) with RBI, focusing exclusively on investments.

        Bandhan Financial Holdings Limited (BFHL):

          • BFHL is a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) of BFSL, likely serving as the holding company for Bandhan Bank and other related ventures.

Here is the shareholding pattern of Bandhan Bank.

          • Promoters: 39.98% (unchanged)
          • FIIs: 28.25% (decreased from 31.20%)
          • DIIs: 15.06% (increased from 12.42%)
          • Public: 16.63% (slightly increased from 16.32%)

In this period, there was a decrease in FII holdings, with DIIs picking up a larger share, while the public’s share also saw a marginal increase.
